Weltgeist – An Expression Pedal Controlled by Your Playing Dynamics

The Dynamics You Lost After Compression

Reborn as Control

Weltgeist turns your instrument's playing dynamics into expression control. Instead of moving a conventional expression pedal with your foot, you can control compatible effects directly through how softly or aggressively you play.

Use it to control parameters such as delay feedback, reverb mix, filter movement or modulation depth. Place Weltgeist before compression to capture your original playing dynamics, or after compression to respond to the processed signal.

Why Weltgeist?

There are dynamic pedals, and there are favorite pedals. Weltgeist turns your favorite pedal into a dynamic one.

Instead of replacing the effects you already love, Weltgeist adds a new layer of control to compatible pedals with an expression input. Your playing dynamics can shape parameters that would otherwise stay fixed or require a conventional expression pedal — tying you to that pedal instead of letting you control the effect naturally from wherever you move on stage.

Keep the sound of the pedal you chose for its character — and let Weltgeist make it respond to how you play.

Weltgeist Features

Base
Sets the expression position used when the input signal is quiet.
Sensitivity
Adjusts how strongly the expression output responds to changes in input level.
Rise
Controls how quickly the pedal responds as the input level increases.
Fall
Controls how quickly the pedal responds as the input level decreases.
Invert
Reverses the response so louder playing moves the expression position in the opposite direction.

Compatibility Notice

The pedal emulates the behavior of an expression-pedal potentiometer, but neither a perfectly linear transfer characteristic nor a constant total resistance across the emulated travel is guaranteed. Use it only with devices that do not require a specific potentiometer resistance. The output is not a true CV signal and may not be compatible with all devices.
