This website uses services provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, California 94107, United States (“Cloudflare”).

Cloudflare acts as an intermediary between visitors and the website's hosting infrastructure. Requests to this website may therefore initially be processed through Cloudflare's network.

In this context, Cloudflare may process technical connection and request data, including the visitor's IP address, the date and time of access, the requested URL, HTTP headers, browser and device information, and security-related information.

Cloudflare is used to provide services including DNS, TLS encryption, content delivery, caching and security functions intended to protect the website against attacks, abuse and automated malicious traffic.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data in this context is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure, reliable and efficient operation of this website and its protection against attacks and misuse.

Cloudflare may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, particularly in the United States. Cloudflare states that transfers from the European Economic Area to the United States may be based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Further information is available in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy .

3. Hosting through GitHub Pages

This website is hosted using GitHub Pages, a service provided by GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, California 94107, United States.

When you access this website, technical information may be processed by GitHub. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, the date and time of access, and information about the requested page.

GitHub states that the IP addresses of visitors to GitHub Pages websites are logged and stored for security purposes.

The processing is necessary to provide the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and technically reliable operation of this website.

Since GitHub is based in the United States, personal data may also be processed outside the European Economic Area.

Further information is available in GitHub's Privacy Statement .

4. Contact by email

If you contact me by email, the information contained in your message, including your email address and any other personal data you provide, will be processed in order to respond to your enquiry.

Where your enquiry relates to a potential or existing contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

For other enquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is to respond to enquiries concerning Late Roman Audio and the Weltgeist pedal.

The data will be deleted once your enquiry has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations or another legal basis require longer storage.

5. Cookies, local storage and similar technologies

This website does not use Google Analytics, advertising trackers or comparable services for profiling visitors for advertising purposes.

Theme preference

If you select a light or dark appearance using the theme control on this website, your selected preference may be stored locally in your browser using local storage.

This information is used only to restore your selected visual theme on subsequent page views. It is not used by Late Roman Audio for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking.

Technically necessary storage

Technical services used by the website may use cookies, local storage or comparable browser technologies where these are required for website security, operation, shopping-cart functionality or another function expressly requested by the visitor.

Where the storage of information on, or access to information stored on, a visitor's device is strictly necessary in order to provide a digital service expressly requested by the visitor, consent is not required under Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG.

Cloudflare security cookies

Cloudflare may set technically necessary cookies when security functions such as browser or challenge verification are used. For example, Cloudflare may use the cf_clearance cookie to record that a visitor has successfully passed a security verification.

Snipcart

The shopping-cart and checkout functionality provided by Snipcart may use cookies, browser storage or comparable technologies where required to maintain the shopping-cart session and provide the requested checkout functionality.

Such technologies are not used by Late Roman Audio for advertising or cross-site profiling.

If non-essential cookies or comparable technologies requiring consent are introduced in the future, they will only be used after obtaining consent where required by law.

6. Fonts and local website resources

This website uses fonts already available on the visitor's device. No font files are currently retrieved from external font providers such as Google Fonts.

Product images, the interactive Weltgeist 3D model and other website assets hosted directly with this website are loaded from the website's own infrastructure. Loading these locally hosted resources does not itself establish an additional connection to a separate third-party content provider.

7. Live audio input

The Weltgeist simulation provides an optional Live Audio mode. When you actively select this function, your browser requests permission to access an available audio input device, such as a microphone or audio interface.

The incoming audio signal is processed locally in your browser using browser audio functionality. The simulation analyses the signal level in order to control the simulated expression response.

The audio signal itself is not transmitted by the Weltgeist simulation to Late Roman Audio or to an external server, and Late Roman Audio does not record or store the audio input.

You can stop the use of the audio input by switching the simulation back to Manual mode. You can also revoke access to the audio input through your browser's site-permission settings.

8. Snipcart shopping cart and checkout

This website integrates shopping-cart and checkout functionality provided by Snipcart, a service operated from Québec, Canada.

Snipcart software and related resources are loaded from Snipcart's infrastructure. When these resources are requested, technical connection data such as the visitor's IP address, browser information, the requested resource, and the date and time of the request may be transmitted to Snipcart.

When you use the shopping cart or checkout, Snipcart may process information required to provide these functions.

Where an order is placed, this may include in particular your name, email address, billing and shipping address, telephone number where provided, order information, cart contents, prices, currency, shipping information and other information required to process the order.

The processing of order and customer information is carried out where necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Technical processing required for the secure and reliable operation of the shopping-cart system may additionally be based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is to provide a functional, secure and reliable online ordering system.

Snipcart states that it provides a Data Processing Addendum for the processing of personal data in connection with its service.

Snipcart is based in Canada, which is outside the European Economic Area. Depending on the infrastructure and service providers used by Snipcart, processing may also involve recipients in other countries.

Where legally required, international transfers of personal data must be protected by an applicable transfer mechanism under the GDPR.

Order-related personal data will be retained for as long as necessary to process the order and fulfil the resulting contractual obligations.

Statutory commercial and tax retention requirements may require certain information to be retained for a longer period.

Further information about Snipcart is available on Snipcart's website .

9. Payment services

A separate external payment service provider is not currently activated for live payment processing on this website.

Snipcart supports the integration of external payment providers. When live payment functionality is activated, the selected payment provider may receive the information required to process the payment.

Before such payment processing is activated, this Privacy Policy will be updated to identify the payment service provider and describe the relevant categories of personal data, purposes of processing, legal bases, recipients and any applicable international data transfers.
